Every year, more than three million children nationally are reported abused or neglected.  Despite the states' attempts to help, many of these kids become trapped in the court/child welfare maze and can spend their childhood moving from one temporary shelter to another.

This is where YOU step in by becoming a CASA volunteer.

As a CASA volunteer, you speak up for the best interest of a child in court.  CASA volunteers are appointed by the judge to become the courts, "eyes and ears".

You don't have to be a lawyer or social worker to be a volunteer.  We're are simply looking for people with a desire to help abused children.  As a CASA volunteer, you'll receive training from professionals in the legal and welfare fields, and you'll have the complete support of your CASA office to help you through each case.

CASA volunteers review records, research information and talk to everyone involved;social workers, attorneys, parents, teachers, family members and, of course, the children themselves.

Volunteers then present their findings to the court in written form.  Judges rely heavily on the CASA volunteers findings, concerns and testimoney to make a more informed decision on the child's future.
