What is CASA? (Court Appointed Special Advocate)
Child abuse and neglect happens everyday in our community. Sumner County CASA is a non profit, volunteer
agency that provides YOU the unique opportunity to make a difference in these abused and neglected children's life.
That's right, YOU can make a difference!
CASA trains everyday citizens from all walks of life to become these abused and neglected children's voice in
the courtroom. No experience required! The volunteer is able to provide the Judge with first hand knowledge of
the circumstances surrounding the child. Volunteers visit with parents, foster parents, teachers, social workers, therapist,
anyone with knowledge regarding the child's situation, including the child. The information found through out the volunteer's
investigation is then reported back to the judge in written form. This report also includes the CASA volunteer's concerns
regarding the child.
Sign up today for volunteer internet training! Please visit the volunteer page for more information and to
download a volunteer application.
